Notable Changes in 2024
The 2024 lineup comes with just three engines, leaving the diesel HEMI powertrain behind. While Dodge promises to implement a host of changes in the 2025 version, the 2024 lineup remains nearly unchanged compared to the previous year.
Engine Options & Performance Comparison
Performance features haven’t changed much since last year, as all engines carried over to the 2024 lineup kept the same figures.
The entry-level engine is standard for the Tradesman and Big Horn, while the 5.7L HEMI V8 with eTorque is available for all trims up to the Limited on both lineups. The 5.7 HEMI VVT is available only on 2023 models and is standard on trims from the Sport to the Limited. The 6.2L Supercharged HEMI boasts best-in-class horsepower and torque capacity, and it’s standard for the TRX.

Design Features
The 2023 Ram 1500 has been considered the “most luxurious Ram 1500 ever,” and the 2024 version doesn’t fall behind. The 2023 lineup has best-in-class legroom and a longer cabin than other vehicles in the same league. Rear seats have a class-exclusive design and reclining features for extra comfort.
In 2024, luxury models like the Limited Longhorn have leather and wood surfaces. Both lineups have dual-zone automatic temperature control for the Sport trim and higher. The Big Horn and upper trims can also opt for a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
You can add special features to the exterior design, as each lineup has a number of appearance packages available.
- The 2023 version has Rebel Havoc and Lunar, Tradesman Warlock, Built to Serve, GT, and Back Country. The TRX also has appearance packages that are exclusive to the Canadian market, such as The Unapologetic Hot Rod. Those packages offer exterior features like special paintings, grille colours and designs, and wheel designs. For instance, the TRX Havoc package has a Baja Yellow exterior painting and 18-inch beadlock-capable black aluminum wheels.
- The 2024 lineup includes the Night Edition Package, the Off-Road Group, the Sport Appearance Package, and the Limited Elite Package. The Night Edition offers a black exterior colour ornated with black accents, while the Sport Appearance includes exclusive grille surrounds. The Limited Elite has split swing-open doors and a multifunction tailgate.
Technology and Safety
Both lineups have the same infotainment systems (Uconnect 5 and Uconnect 5 NAV) and 12-inch touchscreen displays. Those are standard for Sport and upper models, while the Tradesman and Big Horn trims have a 3.5-inch information display. A Harman Kardon premium audio system with 19 speakers is available in different packages and comes standard for the TRX.
Standard safety features for all models include six airbags and electronic stability control with hill start assist, rain brake support, ready alert braking, traction control, trailer sway control, and electronic roll mitigation. Forward collision warning is standard for Sport and upper models.
