2023 RAM 1500 Revealed

What’s New for 2023

The 2023 edition comes from the 5th generation of RAM released in 2019. It’s similar to its predecessor, which was released in 2022. There’ll be a few updates and additional features but don’t expect a complete overhaul. The Uconnect 5C system has updated interfaces with towing-specific navigation and connected service updates. A new cabin air filtration system purifies up to 95% of the air. There’s a 2023 EMS Edition which has unique premium features.

Key Features

Some key features include the maximum towing capacity of 7,652kg, glowing LED Headlamps and taillights, and a selec-speed control feature that’s standard on the Rebel trim. Additionally, it has a 900-watt, 19-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Audio System for a great experience.

Interior and Exterior

RAM interiors are known for their high quality, and the 2023 RAM 1500 is no exception. There’s black Nappa leather available for seating. Floor storage compartments and a panoramic sunroof are optional on all trims. The Uconnect 5 system boasts an optional large 30.48cm display touchscreen you can pinch to zoom and minimize or a standard 21.33cm that also comes with a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot.

Depending on the trim level, you’ll have wheel options of 45.72cm, 50.8cm, or 55.88cm wheels, and the new bi-LED projector headlights are also available for all trims. There’s also a multi-function tailgate that can split 60/40 to allow easy access.

Engine and Performance

There are four available engine options. The 5.7L HEMI V8 and 3.6L Pentastar V6, which both come with eTorque. Then the diesel option is a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 and the Supercharged 6.2L HEMI V8 engine.

All engine options have an eight-speed automatic transmission that powers the rear wheels. The four-wheel drive is standard on the TRX trim but optional for other trims.

The RAM has steady steering no matter the terrain. Thanks to the rear and front coil spring suspension, there’s minimal noise, even on the Tradesman.

Trims and Configurations

Two cab configurations are the quad cab or crew cab, and both configurations include four doors and a back seat. Crew cabs have two-bed options, a short bed (1.7m) or a long bed (1.93m). All the quad cabs will have a long bed.

Available trims will be the same as the 2022 range, with a special limited edition EMS model. So, we’ll have the Tradesman, Tradesman HFE, Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, Limited Longhorn, Limited, and the TRX.

Conclusion

The 2023 RAM 1500 will be released closer to the end of this year, and the prices haven’t yet been released. The standard and optional features on the 2022 RAM 1500 will still be available in the 2023 release. These include safety features like electronic stability control, roll mitigation, and forward collision warning.
