What's New for 2022?

Both of these impressive trucks have received several new updates this year. Here is a look at the new features that you can find on each of these vehicles.

2022 Ram 1500

This year the Ram 1500 adds three new special edition packages to the lineup. The Back Country appearance package is available in the Big Horn models and adds black 18-inch wheels to the exterior as well as black running boards, and Black Tu-Tone exterior paint. This package also adds bucket seats to the interior.

The new G/T package comes standard with the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 engine with an eTorque system and adds a cold-air intake and factory exhaust. The interior also comes with bucket seats and there is the G/T badging on the paddle shifters.

There is also a 10th Anniversary package that adds Quilted leather upholstery that is a gorgeous Sea Salt and Indigo color, a suede headliner, a metal pedal kit, and a 19-speaker premium audio system. On the exterior, the truck gets a new Blue Shade paint color and a multifunctional tailgate.

2022 Ford F-150

The Ford F-150 also adds a new appearance package to its lineup as well. The new Black Appearance package adds black wheels, accents, and sleek black exterior colour to the truck. There is also an available Bed Utility Package that adds locking tie-down to the bed as well as a step for the tailgate.

Exterior Design

Both of these trucks feature a rugged and bold exterior design. However, only the Ram 1500 offers a practical and versatile exterior design. The New RAM 1500 offers a multifunctional tailgate that allows you to open the tailgate like normal, or fold the doors out in a 60/40 split, which gives you easier access into the bed. There is also an available RamBox that adds a long, lockable, and waterproof box into the side of the bed wall and is large enough to hold various tools and other small to medium-sized objects.

Infotainment and Connectivity options. The Ram 1500 comes standard with an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment display, while the F-150 only offers an 8-inch touchscreen display as the standard equipment. Both trucks, however, do offer an available 12-inch touchscreen display. All displays come standard with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Bluetooth connectivity options.

Power and Performance

Both the F-150 and the 1500 offer several powerful engine options to choose from. However, only the Ram 1500 offers a mild-hybrid eTorque system that is able to add up to 139 lb-ft of launch torque.

Also, many of the Ram 1500's engines offer more power and torque than what the F-150 provides. For example, the 1500's standard 3.6-litre V6 engine with eTorque is able to deliver up to 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque, plus 90 lb-ft of launch torque that is provided by the eTorque system. The F-150's standard engine is a 3.3-litre V6 that is only able to deliver 290 horsepower.
