The 2022 Wrangler is available in two-door or four-door options. Two-door options include the Sport, Willys Sport, Sport S, Willys, and Rubicon. Four-door options are all the Unlimited trims.
Interior and Technology
Each trim has been modernized with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone capabilities. Depending on what trim you choose, you’ll have a 17.7cm or 21.3cm infotainment screen with a Uconnect system and a crisp graphic display. There are also USB ports available throughout the cabin.
Engines and Performance
You’ll have a choice of three engines and two transmission types from the Sport to the Unlimited Rubicon. The 3.6L V6 Pentastar engine with a six-speed manual transmission, the 3.6L Pentastar VVT V6 with eTorque technology and automatic eight-speed transmission, or the 2.0L I-4 Turbocharged engine with an eight-speed transmission. Engines with eTorque technology have a built-in electric motor that boosts the torque of the SUV, which improves performance dramatically. The V6 engine puts out 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. You’ll get an estimated 7.2 km/L in the city and 10.6km/L on the highway.
The Unlimited Rubicon 392 has a beast under the hood. This engine means business with a 6.4L HEMI V8 eight-speed engine. A HEMI engine has less surface area, which means less loss of heat, which creates a more powerful engine. The Unlimited Rubicon 392 engine can produce 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft torque. You’ll get about 5.5km/L in the city and 7.2km/L on the highway.
